Alexandre Pinheiro Rego
Alexandre is a member of the GEF Communications team and is responsible for media relations and for supporting the leadership team with a focus on recipient countries of GEF grants. He also leads country-level communications efforts and oversees the implementation of the GEF Visibility and Communication Policy.Before joining the GEF in 2023, Alexandre worked for 25+ years as a communications professional in the private sector, the Brazilian Central Bank, and the Brazilian Presidency, and as a journalist covering economics and finance for leading global media outlets.

Ladu joined the Global Environment Facility Secretariat in 2022 to work on programs that address the climate adaptation needs of the Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States through the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) with specific focus on Africa and the Caribbean.
Andrew Hume
Andrew Hume is the International Waters Focal Area Coordinator at the Global Environment Facility Secretariat, focusing on addressing transboundary marine and freshwater issues. Andrew also leads on the GEF’s programming for oceans and the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement.Andrew is a published marine scientist with over 15 years of experience working on marine ecology research, conservation, and international development. He has a BA and MSc from the University of Virginia and a PhD from Stanford University.
Céline Augereau Coisy
As an agricultural and landscape engineer, Celine has 20 years’ experience in natural resources management in the Caribbean, working on biodiversity conservation projects, and more specifically in natural World Heritage projects. She implemented landscape and biodiversity conservation public policies, looking for policy coherence and multi-stakeholders’ approaches. She specializes in developing regional and local projects based on the preservation, management, and enhancement of exceptional natural and cultural values.
