Céline Augereau Coisy
As an agricultural and landscape engineer, Celine has 20 years’ experience in natural resources management in the Caribbean, working on biodiversity conservation projects, and more specifically in natural World Heritage projects. She implemented landscape and biodiversity conservation public policies, looking for policy coherence and multi-stakeholders’ approaches. She specializes in developing regional and local projects based on the preservation, management, and enhancement of exceptional natural and cultural values.
As a Biodiversity Specialist at the Global Environment Facility, her work is primarily with Small Island Developing States and in Europe and Central Asia, where she focuses on landscapes and integrated multi-stakeholder approaches related to biodiversity conservation and land-use planning, with a strong emphasis on consultation with local communities.
She joined the GEF in 2023 from the French Ministry of Ecology where she was a World Heritage Program Manager, Biodiversity Department Manager, and Landscapes and Sites Inspector. She also spent six years as a Farm Manager for the French Ministry of Agriculture in an agricultural high school, teaching youth and adults.
Celine has a Master of Sciences and Engineering in landscape and agriculture from Institut Agrocampus Ouest Rennes-Angers, in Angers, France, and an undergraduate degree in biology.
