Valeria Elizabeth Rodriguez Vega
Valeria Rodríguez joined the Global Environment Facility Secretariat in November 2024 as an intern with the Data and Analytics team and has since expanded her role to also support the General Management Office and the Programming Division.
She is an environmental engineer and anthropologist from Colombia and has applied this multidisciplinary background to projects focused on sustainable development and environmental management in her home country. Valeria holds an MSc in climate change, development and policy from the University of Sussex, where her research examined climate finance, policy coherence, and strategies to close the global nature finance gap.
At the GEF, she has further applied and expanded this knowledge by contributing to portfolio analysis, knowledge products, and programming processes, as well as stakeholder engagement initiatives that strengthen the GEF's role in advancing biodiversity conservation, sustainable finance, and equitable climate action.
