Hejing Xu
Junior Professional Associate, GEF
Hejing Xu is a Junior Professional Associate (JPA) in the Global Environment Facility's Integration and Knowledge Division. Prior to joining the GEF Secretariat, Hejing worked as a Data Analyst at the World Bank, focused mainly on leveraging data-driven insights and analytics to support policy development and strategic decision-making. She also previously worked at UNICEF and the Central Bank of China.
Hejing is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Tsinghua University, specializing in political economy. She holds bachelor's and master’s degrees in economics from Renmin University of China and Beijing Normal University, respectively. She also attended the KEDGE Business School in France, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in management.
Hejing has specialized experience in data analysis, financial sector development, and international economics. In her role as a JPA, she is harnessing these skills to support analyses and syntheses of GEF investments in tackling drivers of global environmental degradation.
